The Hoisington Water Plant is located just west of the Public Works Department in the 100 block of South Pine.
 

The City of Hoisington water treatment plant is a one million gallon per day lime softening facility as the source of supply via three production wells. All raw water is pumped into the water plant into the lime softening unit where a state-of-the-art high-density lime softening system treats the water. Once the water has passed through the softening units and filters, chlorine is added prior to distribution. A series of high service pumps deliver the water from the storage tanks to the water distribution system. The distribution system also delivers water to the 500 thousand gallon water tower that supplies 1,529 connections.
